Entrepreneurship

IIT Jammu has built a 3-tier Entrepreneurial Ecosystem – Student-level, Early-stage and Growth Stage. Various centers of excellence, Defense-tech and Climate tech of specific import, serve as cradle of industry-academia collaboration for Innovation at all levels.

At the student level, IIT Jammu supports innovation, design thinking, PoC and prototyping activities through its Budding Entrepreneurs’ Club. Initiatives like Invention Factory by Makerbhavan Foundation, Tinkering Labs and Hackathons help and support the students orient themselves towards innovation and entrepreneurship.  Along with specific courses for Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship, these bodies grant funds and mentorship to help students realize alternate carrier-paths as job-givers rather then become job-seekers.
