IIT Jammu Foundation, a nonprofit organization registered in 2023 in the USA, is dedicated to charitable and educational purposes. The foundation was established by three US-based friends and the well-wishers of IIT Jammu, Ruyintan (Ron) E. Mehta, Rajat K. Gupta, and Rakesh K. Kaul. They established the foundation with the sole aim of supporting IIT Jammu and the region of Jammu and Kashmir through philanthropic contributions from individuals and organizations passionate about the development of this region.

For IIT Jammu, the foundation aims to encourage education and research among students and faculty by providing financial support for various activities. including academic research, scholarships for qualified students, research laboratory infrastructure, as well as support IIT Jammu in giving back to society through skill building, training and welfare activities. The foundation will not only be a bridge to facilitate collaboration between industry and academia, but also collaboration between IIT Jammu and research institutes in the USA.

The foundation allows tax-exemption for our well-wishers under US federal income tax, Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3).
