Rajat K. Gupta is a philanthropist and businessman. He completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD) and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
He has served as the worldwide managing director of McKinsey & Company. He is the chairman of the WHEELS Global Foundation (WGF). Mr. Gupta has co-founded Indian School of Business (ISB), American India Foundation (AIF), the New Silk Route, and Scandent Solutions. He also served as an advisor to the UN Secretary General on management reform.
He was a board member of corporations, including Goldman Sachs and American Airlines. He has held leadership and advisory roles in many other non-profits, such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, along with serving on a number of boards and councils, including the World Economic Forum Foundation Board, the Global Health Council, the Dean’s Council of the Harvard School of Public Health, and the Board of Overseers of the Weill Cornell Medical College. His contributions to these organisations have improved operations and strategy.
