The IIT Jammu Foundation, a nonprofit organization registered in 2023 in the USA, is dedicated to charitable and educational purposes. The foundation was established by three US-based friends and the well-wishers of IIT Jammu, Ruyintan (Ron) E. Mehta, Rajat K. Gupta, and Rakesh K. Kaul. They established the foundation with the sole aim of supporting IIT Jammu and the region of Jammu and Kashmir through their philanthropic contributions from US-based friends.
The foundation aims to encourage education and research among IIT Jammu students and faculty by providing financial support for various activities. It will provide support primarily for academic research, scholarships for qualified students, and research laboratory infrastructure. The foundation will be a bridge to facilitate collaboration for industrial research activities between IIT Jammu and research institutes in the USA.
As a young institute, IIT Jammu is continuously looking for support and mentorship for the students and faculties to enhance the research activities and the industrial collaboration. The foundation welcomes our well-wishers to support IIT Jammu. The foundation allows tax-exemption for our well-wishers under US federal income tax, Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3).
