IIT Jammu, one of the youngest siblings of IIT institutions, has been developing the infrastructure to become the epicenter of education and future technology in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. IIT Jammu is working continuously to develop the infrastructure support for the students, research activities, early-stage startups, and a self-sustainable research park in the institute, eventually enriching the local economy.
IIT Jammu has been working with the industries and other government agencies in the region to develop the necessary support for defense and climate technology. The J&K region is strategically important to uplift the regional economy as well. Given the policy of Jammu and Kashmir, the government allows the people across the nation to setup their industries in the region. For this, IIT Jammu plays a key role by providing the essential technical support. The institute, in collaboration with the industries, has organized several workshops periodically. The sole objective of such workshops is to uplift the technical and non-technical skills of the local community in several areas.
People across the world have a strong tie and a desire to work for the region to boost the economy.
